|Medium||Etching, aquatint and drypoint|
Printed in bluish-black ink on thin japon paper, 1885. References: Sueur-Hermel, catalog no.5 (illustrated on pg. 61); Toudouze 1907, pg. 160. Rivière annotates this impression as a third state. Toudouze states an edition of 15 in the final state. This seems extremely unlikely. The only other impression we have ever encountered is the one in the collection of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France. Their impression, likely of the final state, is almost identical to ours, except for having been printed with less contrast, and containing a few additional scrapes. With one of the artist's early red monogram stamps (Lugt 1360).
